Maron saying goodbye this morning. Usually she's already keeping herself entertained by the time I pull the bike out of the carport but this morning the bike wasn't there. Hard to Believe! At first I'm wondering what stupid place I left the bike yesterday after getting back from work. Then I remembered I left it where I always do and rand to feed the animals before going off to Free Night School... The realization hit, and I'm muttering about MFers and convincing myself I'm really against the death penalty and won't find whoever took my bike and be tempted to string them up like one of the those (probably untrue) images of horse thieves in old USA Western genre novels. Maron came out the wall with her look of concern, probably wanting to tell me she had barked warnings and how I should pay more attention and drag my butt out at night more often.. Then again, maybe some tired kids just borrowed it on the way home while I was at Night School in the evening. It would enrage me as much if they had taken a different bike, like the one with no lock, or the one wihout the seat adjusted to me.. Gotta be a lesson here, make it easier to take the less convenient (for me) bikes.. The incident did make for so cute photos of Maron, so it's not all bad.. Always have back-up bikes: Resilience!
