Sorry, but this is completely inadequate. People were seriously harmed.

And it's not the "firm" that gets fined. The firm isn't a person. It's the shareholders that get fined. That's probably you and me, via our pension funds.

We weren't the ones who let people drink contaminated water. That would be the South West Water directors.

The directors should have been fined personally. Or jailed. That would be a more meaningful deterrent.
