The A13 Mk.III Cruiser Mk.V Covenanter was designed as a cheaper and lighter cruiser tank to replace the cruiser Mk. IV. It was armed with a two ponder gun and had 30mm armour. Problems with engines overheated made it unsuitable for deployment overseas, relegating it to training in the UK. Although the Mk. IV solved the overheating issues it was declared obsolete in 1943 https://www.destinationsjourney.com/historical-military-photographs/a13-mk-iii-cruiser-mk-v-covenanter/ #Covenanter #a13covenanter #tank #Cruisertank #BritishTank #WW2 #military #warfare

Based on the Cromwell tank, the FV4101 Charioteer Medium Tank was a British medium tank of the early 1950s. Weight limits on the Cromwell’s suspension meant that the turret for the Charioteer had minimal armour (20-30mm), while at the same time being larger to accommodate the 84 mm (3.3 in) Ordnance QF 20 pounder gun (the Cromwell had a Ordnance QF 75 mm gun). https://www.destinationsjourney.com/historical-military-photographs/fv4101-charioteer-medium-tank/ #military #photography #FV4101Charioteer #Charioteer #CharioteerTank #MediumTank #Tank #BritishTank
