Boom Overture -lentokoneen on tarkoitus tulla kaupalliseen käyttöön vuonna 2029 ja se olisi ensimmäinen kerta yli 25 vuoteen, kun tavallinen kuolevainen voisi matkustaa ääntä nopeammin. Yliäänelentokone Concorde siirtyi eläkkeelle vuonna 2003.
