I went to Books With Pictures today. I hadn’t been in since just before they moved, just before 5yo was born, and then the pandemic started… I’d seem them at shows, but it felt good to finally get in.

Katie, who runs the place, is great. I walked in and said (of 5yo) “she really likes Snapdragon; got anything else we should check out?” and she immediately said “yes i do” and pulled 7 more things off the shelves.

The Big Christmas Bake is a clever variation on the Twelve Days of Christmas, written by Fiona Barker and Illustrated by Pippa Curnick for Happy Yak. Two kids gather ingredients with help from their friends to make a Twelfth Night cake. Recipe for cupcakes included! Sounds delicious, so I’m definitely going to try it.
