Here are some photos that I re-edited with PixInsight over the rainy week. The Fish Head and Cat's Eye are two favorites of ours that I felt needed to be re-done and they are astonishing. The Horsehead photo also needed a new edit because the previous background extraction done with GraXpert was too strong and took a lot of the nebula with it. I've listed the objects in order below:

1. Fish Head Nebula (3.42 hours)
2. The Cat's Eye Nebula (12.28 hours)
3. Horsehead Nebula (9.13 hours)
4. Bode's Galaxy (2.67 hours)

Aquí se puede comparar el antes y el después de aplicar BlurXTerminator (y una nueva calibración de colores) a la imagen. La obtuve con la cámara ASI1600MM, rueda portafiltros y el SkyWatcher 72ED, un buen telescopio de iniciación a la astrofotografía. No es un Takahashi, que son los Ferraris de los telescopios, pero con BlurXTerminator las estrellas y la nebulosa quedan más que dignas.

Enésimo ejemplo de la maravilla que es BlurXTerminator, una extensión para PixInsight que convierte los telescopios reguleros en excelentes. El algoritmo se desarrolló con aprendizaje automático. Corrige la forma de las estrellas, redondeándolas y adelgazándolas. Con esta información luego aplica un algoritmo de deconvolución a la nebulosa, aumentando su nitidez de una forma que parece magia.

He estado probando la extensión BlurXTerminator para PixInsight. Las reseñas que he visto en YouTube le hacen justicia. ¡Hace magia! Es capaz adelgazar y corregir la forma de las estrellas. Por aquí ejemplo de corrección una esquina de una imagen mía de M31 con inclinación de sensor. A los objetos extensos les aplica deconvolución, muy resultona pero un poco agresiva, a veces salen artefactos.

Quick #BlurXterminator test with #PixInsight. The star shapes in the original are pretty terrible, and while far from perfect in the result (right), quite a lot better. Definitely going to test this more. If only there would be some clear nights to get new data to play with!
