Rupert Reynolds#BlackTotDay Tomorrow is "Black Tot Day" named to mourn the loss of the tot of rum given to sailors in the Royal Navy.
Thankfully, I remember that I can still buy a tot of Pusser's rum in my local bar, Elsewhere*, and it still tastes like the good stuff my brother brought home in a gallon stone jar in the 1970s :-)
*a very friendly place in #Kendal, close to Booths supermarket.

The only thing that softened the blow for me was that my half-brother knew exactly where the gallon jars of Pusser's rum were sent, and it seems he helped to arrange for his ship to make a stop at the island.
It was very, very nice. If you like rum, try the modern "Gunpowder Proof" which is quite similar to the real thing :-)
