The House of Commons rose last night. But the Senate continues its work! We started two hours early, at noon EDT today, in the hopes that we'll be able to wrap up our business tonight (or at latest, tomorrow morning.) On Monday, the Senate Legal Committee will proceed to clause by clause debate on Bill S-12. One of the bill’s stated intents is to give sexual assault victims more power to challenge publication bans on their own identity. BUT the wording of the act may impose tough new limits on journalists & libraries.
