Sculpting practice ! Inspired by one of the known athénienne (washstand) from Charles Percier (1764-1838), gilded by Martin-Guillaume Biennais (1764-1843). As this was one of my first complex training project, I remember feathers and scales were a challenge. I stopped counting the number of times I redid these parts after 10, and I must have tried every method I could find online to speed up the process.
To me, the best method was good old hand sculpting, going slowly and steadily, breaking the process in small practice periods then doing something else to be able to come back to it with fresh eyes.
