Two new belt loop folders arrived today! One is for 13-mm loops and the other for 15-mm loops. Pic 3 shows my old 13-mm folder at the top and the new one at the bottom. You can see the difference in the construction of the exit. This is a belt loop machine that arrived less than a month ago. For 30 years I've been making belt loops with a serger and a lockstitch machine, which is very time consuming and doesn't always produce the intended result. It's very satisfying to finally be able to make real belt loops!

As I don't have a belt loop machine, I use a serger to finish one edge, fold, and stitch from the back right along both edges. These pairs are set in the 1920s and have belt loops made of lighter weight denim than the pants themselves. The third picture is of a pair set to be slightly older than the other three, and has belt loops that are bar tacked from the inside at the top of the waistband.
