Update on Dave King of #FloggingMolly reveals he had a debilitating stroke in late January. The frontman, formerly with 80's heavy metal band #Fastway underwent two surgeries to save his life, spent two weeks in a #coma and later had a third surgery in order to aid in his recovery.
Flogging Molly's annual #SaltyDog Cruise will proceed soon out of Miami as scheduled with 18 bands participating without King.

Just saw Al Olender and Shovels & Rope at the #BellyUp. If you get the chance to see either, take it.
I hadn't heard of Al Olender, the opening act. She was great! She had the timing and stage presence of a Broadway lead. If I was only able to catch her act I would have been satisfied.
Shovels and Rope were fantastic. Normally the live performance isn't as good as the studio recording. For their big songs they were a little different than the album versions: rougher sounds but more powerful.
