IcarosityThis is Tacca chantrieri, the black bat flower. It is thought that it evolved for a pollinator, possibly extinct now, that was attracted to mammals. Just as some orchids look like insects, this is what a plant came up with to look mammalian: ears, eyes, whiskers, and even kind of a snout.
