Ierse zangeres Moya Brennan (73) van Clannad overleden
De Ierse zangeres Moya Brennan is op 73-jarige leeftijd overleden. Dat meldt de Ierse publieke omroep RTÉ. Brennan was vooral bekend als frontvrouw van de Grammy- en BAFTA-winnende groep Clannad. De Keltische folkmuzikante, liedjesschrijfster en harpiste uit Gaoth Dobhair in de Donegal Gaeltacht maakte ongeveer 25 albums en verkocht miljoenen platen over de hele wereld.

Onderzoek wijst uit: ook BAFTA maakte fouten bij n-woordrel
Ook de BAFTA-organisatie is de fout ingegaan bij de afhandeling van de rel rond het n-woord, dat bij de uitreiking werd geroepen door een man met het syndroom van Gilles de la Tourette. De BBC meldt dat een onafhankelijke onderzoekscommissie tot die conclusie is gekomen. De BAFTA-organisatie droeg in de nasleep niet goed zorg voor de gasten, de leden van de organisatie en de kijkers, al gebeurde dit niet met opzet.
