I meant to take Pear along with Kuro to service the 18 big Boris Brown hens. Kuro is usually harder to catch, but since we got smarter about organizing things so the disabled hen doesn't get abused, I haven't had to grab and cage Kuro lately. Kuro is sweet once you grab him and get him in the crook of your arm. He just puts his beak down and settles into you. He doesn't squawk. He didn't like getting put into the car and a cage but he was composed enough to eat the beef lard and feed treats once in there. But Pear kept squawking and flapping and making a scene after getting grabbed. And his buddy Goldi joined in and that was contagious everybody making a racket. Goldi jumped up on the quail cages and gave me the accusing eye while sqauwking high. Goldi tried to follow us out the gate. Then ran around and up onto the wall to watch Pear getting put into the car. But Kuro attacked Pear as soon as he got into the cage. Pear feels a lot heavier and stronger compared to. It's all attitude I guess doesn't matter how solid or heavy the bird (dog? guy? _In Between Man_ It's not the dog in the fight it's the fight in the dog...) is, it's the confidence... So I put Pear back where I got him and gave him some special feed-and-fat treats for his trouble. He forgave or forgot the incident and started clucking about the treats hoping to draw a hen in.. I wonder if Kuro would be more accepting of Pear in the new environment with 18 Boris Brown Hens?? WIthout the viscious boss rooster Rocky around the Kuro/Pear relationship might change. It's doesn't matter, it's just interesting to see how mobile chicken society is...
