This Sunday, I will *not* be following the UFC event. I *will* be going to a watch party for the No Kings event!

Rise Up, Sing Out Sierra Club and Green Sanctuary Task Force Watch Party · No Kings
On the evening of Sunday, June 14, join us in watching “Rise Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First Amendment,” an uplifting evening of song, solidarity, and action. Featuring an all-star lineup of performers, this 90-minute livestreamed concert will celebrate the freedoms guaranteed by our First Amendment—of speech, religion, press, assembly, and protest—and the people power that protects them. The watch party will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Bloomington. Here we can sing along, find inspiration in the performances, build community, and take meaningful action together. Popcorn will be served, but please bring your own non-alcoholic drink. Offered by the Committee for the First Amendment, the concert will run from 7 to 8:30 pm. Doors will open at 6:30 to give people a chance to socialize; at 6:45, we will introduce the main event with a little background and a look at local/state threats to our First Amendment rights. At 8:30 we have reserved time for people to talk about what we’ve learned and to inform each other about ways to confront the undermining of our rights. The evening is sponsored by the Uplands Network of the Sierra Club and the Green Sanctuary Task Force of the UUCB. The UUCB church is at 2120 N Fee Lane.
