Easter Sunday in the Park With a Kid Astronaut
Previously on Midlife Crisis Crossover: in between our conventions and road trips, sometimes my wife Anne and I find new sights in our own Indianapolis backyard. On this very Easter morning we discovered a new park in nearby Plainfield that we'd heard nothing about until I looked it up just now. Join the DeKalb County Democrats for a Meet the Candidates event on April 7, 2026, at Middaugh Hall. This is a great opportunity to hear directly from local candidates about their priorities, ask questions, and connect with others in the community. Whether you’re a longtime supporter or just getting involved, all are welcome to attend and be part of the conversation.

TRTR features the new South Shore Line Monon Corridor train service, one of the most exciting new developments in Northwest Indiana this spring.

There are more planes flying over Northwest Indiana and the Gary / Chicago International Airport.
It is nice to see that the train platforms on the South Shore Monon Corridor are open under the deck in case someone falls. The person can just move to safety under the platform, if needed.
I have seen videos from other places where people are scrambling to pull someone off subway tracks because the platform base is solid.
Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Railfan takes a ride on the new South Shore Monon Corridor.
This video is nice because it shows the view from the train's cab.
