From the attack in Hanau to Anti-Racism Day – an evening of discussion with @migrantifa_berlin ✊🏼❤️‍🔥

Even years later, the racist attack in Hanau is still very much on the minds of many of us.

19 February marks the sixth anniversary of the attack, and as every year, there will be a memorial rally followed by a demonstration.

This year, for the first time, the demonstration will take place in our neighbourhood in Wedding.

We have invited our comrades from @migrantifa_berlin to tell us why 19 February will not be a mere commemorative event, but why they are proclaiming it the Anti-Racist Day of Action throughout Germany for the third year in a row.

So come along, bring your friends and family, and let's talk!

Vom Anschlag in Hanau zum Antirassistischen Kampftag – ein Diskussionsabend mit @migrantifa_berlin ✊🏼❤️‍🔥

Der rassistische Anschlag von Hanau ist vielen von uns auch Jahre später immer noch sehr präsent.

Am 19 Februar jährt sich der Anschlag zum sechsten Mal und es wird wie jedes Jahr eine Gedenkkundgebung mit anschließender Demonstration geben.

Dieses Jahr wird die Demo zum ersten Mal in unserem Kiez im Wedding stattfinden.

Wir haben die Genoss:innen von @migrantifa_berlin eingeladen, um uns zu berichten, wieso der 19.02 keine reine Gedenkveranstaltung wird, sondern sie im dritten Jahr in Folge deutschlandweit den Antirassistischer Kampftag ausrufen.

Also kommt vorbei, bringt eure Friends&Family mit und lasst uns miteinander ins Gespräch kommen!

Since the beginning of January, democratic self-government in Rojava and with it the women's revolution have been under attack by the HTS under the new Syrian president al Jolani, a former Al-Qaeda member, and the Turkish state.

The women's revolution must be defended at all costs, as the achievements of Kurdish women are unprecedented. In Rojava, they fight in their own military units such as the YPJ, which was founded in 2013 and played a key role in the armed struggle against IS and the liberation of Kobanê.

They organise themselves in their own women's courts and women's shelters and are significantly involved in decision-making at every political level.

Seit Anfang Januar wird in Rojava die demokratische Selbstverwaltung und damit auch die Frauenrevolution durch die HTS unter dem neuen syrischen Präsidenten al Jolani, einem ex Al-Qaida Mitglied und dem türkischen Staat angegriffen.

Die Frauenrevolution gilt es um jeden preis zu verteidigen, da die Errungenschaften der kurdischen Frauen beispiellos sind. In Rojava kämpfen sie in ihren eigenen militärischen Einheiten wie der YPJ, welche sich 2013 gründete und eine maßgebliche Rolle beim bewaffneten Kampf gegen den IS und der Befreiung Kobanês spielte.

Sie organisieren sich in eigenen Frauengerichten und Frauenhäusern und sind auf jeder politischen Ebene maßgeblich bei Entscheidungen mit eingebunden.

Food not Bombs invite you to a Solidarity night for Radio Juntanza, an organization founded and lead by women from the Global South that promotes initiatives of resistance, care, recognition, and biocultural conservation of territories and ecosystems from an ecofeminist perspective.

They generate, support, and disseminate processes of territorial resistance in Colombia and other territories of the Global South, weaving strategies to address environmental degradation, violence, extractivisim, displacement, and structural oppression.

The do this trough no-oppressive scientific, artistic, and collective practices based on non-essentialist ecofeminisms, listening as a tool for emancipation, and intergenerational community building.

Food not Bombs Berlin lädt euch zu einem solidarischen Abend für Radio Juntanza ein, eine von Frauen aus dem Globalen Süden gegründete und geleitete Organisation, die Initiative des Wiederstands, der Fürsorge, der Anerkennung sowie der biokulturellen Bewahrung von Territorien und Ökosystemen aus einer ökofeministischen Perspektive fördert.

Radio Juntanza initiiert, unterstützt und verbreitet Prozesse territorialen Wiederstands in Kolumbien und anderen Regionen des Globalen Süden.

Dabei werden Strategien gegen Umweltzerstörung, Gewalt, Extraktivismus, Vertreibung und strukturelle Unterdrückung miteinander verwoben.

Dies geschieht durch nicht-unterdrückende wissenschaftliche, künstlerische und kollektive Praktiken, die auf nicht-essentialistischen Ökofeminismen beruhen, Zuhören als Werkzeug der Emanzipation begreifen und auf intergenerationellen Gemeinschaftsaufbau setzen.
