今回は、アゾレスウソ（学名：Pyrrhula murina）が暮らすアゾレス諸島を襲っている「低気圧フランシス」の話です。アゾレスウソは、2014年の図鑑では「EN：危機」とされていました。ところが最新のレッドリストでは、外来種の侵入を抑えるなどの保護活動が効いてきたこともあって、「VU：危急」まで回復しています。ただ、それで安心できるかというと、まだそうでもなくて。保護を続けないと戻ってしまうかもしれない“保護依存”の問題や、気候変動で土砂崩れが増えるかもしれない不安も残っています。だからアゾレスウソは今も、きっと「祈りの先に、土が動く」そんな状態なんだと思います。この記事は短めで、5分くらいで読めます。よかったら、最後まで読んでみてください。
