Poetically named fairy barf lichen covers the lower part of a redcedar stump in Pilchuk Tree Farm. It is also called candy drop or peppermint drop lichen (Icmadophila ericetorum).

The tree farm grows different softwoods for commerce but has areas that haven't been clearcut in a while, down by a boggy water course. It's full of mosses and lichens. You can see some lovely old large stumps, but there are no more really big trees in the farm. They allow recreational use
