Compiling Controlled Vocabularies of Contributor and User Roles for a Platform of Open Educational Resources

The project DALIA - Knowledge Base for "FAIR data usage and supply" produces and supplies an infrastructure for educational resources. An important contribution to this project is the development of a platform for teaching and training materials. It serves as a technical link between NFDI consortia and addresses an interdisciplinary research community. It is based on the DALIA Knowledge Graph which serves as an interlink of the heterogeneous and subject-specific teaching and learning materials. This poster provides the compilation of the controlled vocabularies concerning the human entities: contributors, users of the front-end, and their roles in accordance with the user roles of the platform. The focus here is on administrative metadata for human entities. Our aim is to create a hierarchy of simple metadata categories with mappings to other metadata schemas and a small (closed) core set for content curation, searching and harvesters.

Last week, I attended the workshop on #AIMS (Applying Interoperable Metadata Standards) and their #MetadataApplicationProfiles. I learned a lot, especially while using the platform.
What I like the most, is that different colleagues are tackling the same questions from different directions. Second, Matthias & Nils showed the same cartoon as I did in my presentations, also here on October 17 🥰. #ApplicationProfiles are great compositions - and no patch working, and "not another metadata schema".

I would not call it competition, I would call it #harmonization. And it is also not ugly patchwork but a great composition if you are using #ApplicationProfiles. (source https://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/standards.png)
