Hello Fedi friends, how's your #DiDay going?

I was going to configure CryptPad on my second YunoHost VPS but gave up because of complicated DNS settings / additional SSL certs and the requirement to tweak things in the background... too complicated for this newbie, sigh. Plus I already have document editing in NextCloud.

So I opted instead for a new installation: #AppFlowy, an open source alternative to #Notion.

AppFlowy's description mentions integration with AI - #OpenAI especially - but it's not mandatory. The setup instructions say that if you don't want to use it, you can enter a random string... so I ended up writing a very long IDetestOpenAIblahblahblah sort of thing and YunoHost is currently doing its magic, installing the app on my server.

I'll let you know how it goes!

I think #AppFlowy has officially replaced #Notion for me. It does everything I need it to do, is a lot more stable now, and I’ve resolved some issues I’ve been having with syncing (entirely my fault).

I’ve tried #AppFlowy as a #Notion alternative and while it is close, I’m not quite sold on it yet as I’ve had issues syncing and general stability.

I’m also trying #Logseq as an #Obsidian alternative. They aren’t quite the same as Obsidian is a markdown text editor with huge customizability, while Logseq is a more focused block-based markdown text editor centred around bullet point notes made in a daily journal. I like the way both function and I’m not sure how to effectively execute a transition to Logseq given how I use Obsidian currently.
