Manual de Toki Pona
Out of a sudden and acute bout of enthusiasm (I was younger then) I made a spanish manual of the artificial language Toki Pona. I printed (at home, with a normal printer!) 50 full-color copies of the manual (50 x 80 pages = 4000 pages!). Sadly, the goddamned fancy paper I used wasn't compatible with nomal ink: it never dried. It was a huge disappointment. We'll see what can be salvaged from the wreckage (like these clipart and this digital version of the manual).

IRC transcript of the talk

I did not realize when I began taking notes on IRC that I would be posting the transcript. Since people in the channel did not know ahead of time the transcript would become public, I edited it in several ways. I removed comments and discussion not directly related or relevant to what Jimmy was saying. I removed people’s IRC names and the names of people in the room. If you were in either place and would like credit for what you said, please let me know and I will add your name back in. Corrections and commentary welcome.

In August 2005, Jimbo Wales made a decision to lock the Klingon Wiki permanently. While Jimbo has never publicly stated his exact rationale for closing the wiki, the maturation of Wikipedia and its sister projects as a whole into a vital worldwide resource meant that there was little incentive to keep a niche language that was not intended to be seriously used. Other constructed languages such as the Toki Pona language were closed at about the same time (although the Toki Pona Wikipedia, like the Klingon Wikipedia, was ultimately hosted at Wikia). At present, the constructed languages for which Wikipedias exist are Esperanto, Ido, Interlingua, Interlingue (Occidental), Lojban, Volapük, Novial and Lingua Franca Nova. All of these have some speakers; the first three, and in particular Esperanto, have a community of speakers of notable size. Esperanto-speaking Wikimedians in 2012 even formed a Wikimedia User Group, Esperanto kaj Libera Scio.
