We went to a rabbit show yesterday with no expectations and came home with a Best Opposite Sex of Breed win!

Jupiter placed at the bottom of his class 2 weeks ago. He's only 3mo and still in his baby coat, but the judge liked what they saw this time! He was named the best buck of the day.

He is getting shaved down this weekend and will be back in the show circuit in the fall. I think he has a really good chance at getting Best of Breed once his adult coat grows in.

Jupiter, my keeper buck from Delilah's litter. He's 3 months old now!

His crimp and sheen are incredible. He also has a very sweet and docile personality.

Here is he with his sister Neptune, who is going to a show home in Colordao! She gets picked up on 5/26

Hyacinth's litter is now 9 weeks old! I can't believe I forgot to update about these babies. Pics are from when they were 6 weeks old.

The first three are possible keepers, a black doe and two white bucks. I've decided to keep the doe and find show homes for the bucks.

The other five are all does that lack sheen, so they can't be shown. I'm trying to find wool homes for them.

Sunday had such gorgeous weather here in Michigan.

The baby bunnies got a field trip in the fresh air and sunshine.

I got the barn cleaned out, some new hutchesinstalled, and everybody got fresh dandelion greens with their dinner.

I was going to feed nettles and sticky weed, but the dandelions started a flush of blooms and I know how the bunnies love to snack on those flowers.

I did some grooming too and started assessing coats for the next show on 5/16

Jupiter and Buzz Aldrin, the two babies I'm holding back as show prospects and possible keepers.

I'll only end up keeping one of them and the other will be placed in a trusted show home, but they are both staying here at least until the next show on 5/16 when I can get some feedback on them from judges and other breeders.

Jupiter has better type and temperament for the show tables, but Buzz has better wool and a sassy personality that I really enjoy.

Back in February, Delilah, my best doe, gave birth to 11 beautiful babies.

They are almost 9 weeks old now and ready to go to their new homes!

One is being picked up today for a 4-H project, two are being held back as possible keepers, four have found local show homes, and one is traveling to Colordao next month!

The remaining three are still looking.

In April I managed to make it to a rabbit show.

The results were what I expected. My Angora placed towards the top, my Satins placed towards the bottom.

I got some derpy pics of Rocky, my best and favorite boy.

I want to make an update on my bunnies, but school has been taking all of my mental energy and I can't get my thoughts together.

Please enjoy some photos of 4 weeks old babies munching a dandelion treat.

I'll be back to your Regularly Scheduled Axiom after the semester ends.

I found a surprise in the barn yesterday morning - 12 new Satin Angora babies!

Hyacinth wasn't due to kindle until tomorrow at the earliest, so this was a shock. I also wasn't expecting this many.

Momma and babies are all doing well so far! I split them into two nests of 6 - one group will get fed in the morning and the other in the evening. This way I can ensure all the babies have an equal chance of getting big fat milk bellies.
