I took some of the babies outside today for some good pics of the differences in their colors.

Chocolate Agouti is the dark one, Chocolate Chinchilla is the light one.

Can you believe these two only have 1 gene difference?

They're both chocolate (a gene that changes all black pigement to brown) and agouti patterned (a gene that causes their fur to be black-and-red banded)

The Chinchilla gene changes all of the red pigment to beige. See how much of a difference that is?

Do you guys remember Pistachio?

He was the first rabbit I sold, almost exactly a year ago, from the first litter I bred, ever.

I just got this pic from his owner! He got so big and matured so well! He has babies of his own, too ♄

I'm not 100% certain, but it looks like we have 6 chocolate agouti & 5 chocolate chinchilla babies đŸ˜»

(Actually, looking back at the pics, I think it might be 7 agoutis)

Also, unrelated, do you see how FAT these babies are? Delilah is FEEDING them.

The show went well today!

Actually everything moved so fast that I forgot to take a lot of pictures.

I sold one Angora and brought a new Satin home - her name is Marigold!

Rocky, my Satin Angora, placed 2nd out of 5 for colored senior bucks.

Houdini placed 4th out of 4 for copper junior does. She wasn't frightened or overwhelmed at all and kept standing up to look around and see what was going on.

Size difference between the runt and one of it's better-fed siblings.

The babies are 6 days old now and their fur is starting to come in. You can see the color difference now between the agouti (left) and the chinchilla (right) patterned babies.

The runt is going to continue getting extra feedings at least until they're 2 weeks old, or possibly until momma starts weaning them at 4 weeks.

Delilah's runt is doing well! The shelving is working!

I actually checked on the litter this afternoon and wasn't sure which one the runt was at first cuz it had such a major growth spurt.

The big fat fatty babies are doing fine on just one feeding a day, and the smaller ones are quickly catching up.

Delilah is doing great too! She's producing plenty of milk and keeping good body condition. She also demands her kisses every day UwU.

Saturday is the first rabbit show of the year!

I'm only going for the morning because I have a major essay due this weekend and that takes priority, but I'll be going out to dinner with all of my Angora friends in the evening. I'm so excited to get out and spend some time with my people

I'm selling on of my Angoras to a fiber artist who's just getting into the breed, and I'll be bringing home a new Satin doe!

Stay tuned for pictures and updates!

Delilah did not surprise me with a bonus 12th baby. That's fine, honestly, because I'm a bit worried about her ability to provide for all those hungry mouths.

She's on a double ration of supplements and is getting electrolytes with her water. So far everyone is doing well, all the babies had nice fat tummies this morning. I'll be keeping a close eye on them for at least a week.

In better news, 5 of the babies have found homes already!

Delilah delivered her babies this afternoon!

She had ELEVEN đŸ˜±đŸ€Ż

She's a first time mom and so far she's doing everything right. She built a wonderful nest and pulled lots of fur to keep her babies warm.

There was still some placenta in the box when I checked on them, so there's a slight chance she wasn't done laboring yet. I'm low-key hoping there'll be one more to make a nice dozen ahaha.

Momma and babies are all doing well!

I had a dream last night that Delilah had over twenty babies and everytime i tried to count them they kept wiggling and hopping around and getting all mixed up.

I woke up this morning to zero babies
