And finally we have “An Optical Poem” (1938) which was produced and directed by musician and architect Oskar Fischinger for MGM two whole years before Disney made “Fantasia” It’s set to Franz Liszt's “Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2.” Unlike Disney, Fischinger was hated by Hitler and the Nazis for his use of modern and abstract art.
