Day seven of the BBC Micro advent calendar: it's the BBC Micro User Guide, an invaluable reference text for the aspiring programmer! The convenient spiral binding made it easy to flick through and keep open at a particular page, but quickly led to a rather dog-eared appearance... #AdventOfBeeb #BBCMicro
@EdS Good idea! I like #AdventOfBeeb 😄

I'm too old to remember Granny's Garden, but I understand it to have left a big impression on a lot of people!

Day six of the BBC Micro advent calendar: Granny's Garden! Perhaps the most famous of all the educational games ever produced for the Beeb, it's most remembered for the sudden, loud appearance of the scary witch, signalling that you have lost the game and must start again... #AdventOfBeeb #BBCMicro
Day five of the BBC Micro advent calendar: it's the InterWord ROM chip! This could be inserted into one of the spare ROM slots on the Beeb's motherboard and instantly equip you with a first rate word processor, launched with the *IW. command from the BASIC prompt. #AdventOfBeeb #BBCMicro
Day four of the BBC Micro advent calendar: it's the wonderful Ian McNaught-Davis, aka "Mac", presenter of the BBC's iconic Computer Programme, Making The Most Of Your Micro and Micro Live! Mac provided the friendly human face to the Beeb in these superb educational programmes. #AdventOfBeeb #BBCMicro
Day three of the BBC Micro advent calendar: it's the Bones demo, a whimsical little program written by Mike Goldberg featuring two skeletons variously playing guitar, stretching their necks, knocking each others' skulls off and wearing top hats. 80s eccentricity at its best! #AdventOfBeeb #BBCMicro
Day two of the BBC Micro advent calendar: it's the 6502 second processor! This cheese wedge unit was almost a second computer in its own right, freeing up the 32k of RAM on the connected Beeb for added programming power. At an eye-watering £199, it was one for the true pros... #AdventOfBeeb #BBCMicro
