TUM is involved in the new German Center for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine (DZKJ). Thus, the university is involved all eight health research centers.

@siege Makes me wonder if I can go #familymedicine once it comes time to apply for residency and be able to help trans people in my community or if I would be more effective doing a #paediatrics residency with an #adolescentmedicine or #paediatricendocrinology subspecialty training afterwards? I mean, I do want to be an expert but on the other hand, #carms is already a pain in the ass when you have to do it once. Twice is horrible.

As an #adolescentmedicine doc, I toggle between being a specialist & a generalist. Many lean into specialized domains of practice because those seem more "special" - but what is most special is meeting the needs of the pt in front of you whether esoteric or general/multifaceted.

Hello, #MedMastodon! By way of #introduction, I am a #medpeds #adolescentmedicine doc @Duke.

My main interests are positive youth development, supporting healthful decision making among youth, and equipping adults to be effective partners & advocates for young people.

I think a lot about youth with chronic conditions, #behavioralhealth, #populationhealth, #healthcommunication, & #designthinking.

As far as future “toot” output, I lean towards positive, encouraging content & amusing GIFs.
