I just read Abroad in Japan, by Chris Broad and it's a somewhat up and down, but ultimately funny and engaging recounting of a decade spent in Japan.

watching a japanese trucker on twitch and he's eating familymart fried chicken for breakfast. whenever i think of that i think of chris abroad in japan because he loves that stuff.

If you haven't already seen it, "Abroad in Japan" visited the Nakagin Capsule Tower back in 2021, and a follow-up video one year later in 2022. They are bittersweet videos, as the tower has since been dismantled in 2022.

I've posted this before, but I regret I never had a chance to see the Nakagin Capsule Tower.
