Questions today about tradeshows on #AVinTheAM on that other platform.
It's incredible to me how fast we forgot the lessons of the pandemic when it comes to accessibility and neurodiverse individuals being able to "attend" shows. We're right back to 2019.
No virtual component. No nothing for the people who can't travel or even get around the shows easily.
And now, no masks.
Do I think it's helpful to see equipment in person? Sure, if it's a training session for a small group or a curated speaker shootout. Otherwise, tradeshows are just social contests for extroverts and nightmares for us introverts.
I still miss the #AVinTheAM conversations on Sunday mornings. Just feels like something is missing around 8am Eastern time.
That said, the ache will never be enough to get me to log back into #Twitter
@NJDavidD - I'll be honest. I miss #AVinTheAM on a Sunday morning.
But there's no way I'm being dragged back into the formerly known as the bird hell site.
@NJDavidD i feel that. I really want to argue, sorry, comment about how you don't need the tech background to design modern AV systems. Sure, you can be the tech but today's engineers go well beyond the wiring diagram.
If you're organization is set up for it, there's also a path for project managers without tech experience. Understanding and supporting the organizational structure is where many companies, especially those who expand quickly, fail.
One other thought: Companies need to teach leadership skills. Management skills are necessary and good but leaders are required in successful companies.
@NJDavidD - Because I'm the curious type, and I'm procrastinating about going out today, I checked in on #AVinTheAM today.

@NJDavidD - Good thing it's a holiday weekend. I'm not sure what you and @Chris_Neto are planning for the future of #AVinTheAM but it doesn't seem like Twitter is the place to be.

Bob@NJDavidD Q2.You overcome gaps by studying a new area of interest in the IT/ General technology ecosystem. Now AV integrator's clients have many needs they go to other consultants, resellers for. Every AV client as an example has data storage needs, cyber security requirements, Business intelligence opp's to improve productivity as a few examples. Couple lack of action w lack of courage by C level leadership in means one needs to act independently to advance personal expertise #AVinTheAM
