With the #Infocomm23 convention this week, some #avtweeps are defaulting back to using Twitter as a home base for direct group messaging between folx from different countries and areas. I get why. It's worked in the past and, honestly, the group DM was a powerful tool when linked to a functioning social media site.
I'm sorry but I just don't get why anyone, many who consider themselves an "ally", still use Twitter for any reason. It's not about your politics. It's about human rights and the safety of the people you claim to be friends of.
Twitter is not a safe space for #LGBTQ peeps. If you want to reach us, don't force us to log back into the trainwreck that is Twitter in 2023.
#AVinTheAM is about #Infocomm23
Tomorrow is my travel day. Hope the weather cooperates.
I'll be pretty easy to recognize with my mask and my pins.
I wish the #avtweeps had decided as a whole to leave Twitter and join Mastodon. #Infocomm23 is next week and it would be easier to connect with those who will be there.
Now, I have some on WhatsApp, some on LinkedIn, and some on Instagram.
I truly hate Musk and the tech bros.
So, tomorrow morning I'm going to be posting some questions about project management and engineering.
I would love to have you join in the conversation.
