Great #ASLH panel on constitutional originalism. Highlights were Austin Steelman’s paper on J. Gresham Machen as a key figure in the history of evangelicalism’s embrace of originalist politics and Logan Sawyer’s paper on how a group in the Reagan administration orchestrated originalism’s ascendancy to promote their policy agenda.
