Petition: Introduce new air quality and PPE rules for health and social care settings
We all share the experience of needing to visit hospitals, GPs, dentists, etc. Unfortunately, in these shared environments, there is currently no protection from airborne viruses
At 10,000 signatures, the government will respond to this petition
At 100,000 signatures, this petition will be considered for debate in Parliament
We want the Government to set new rules on air quality and infection control in health and social care settings, to prevent and control airborne infections, with new ventilation and filtration requirements, new PPE standards and staffing rules, and monitoring and inspection to ensure compliance.
BC: COVID-aware / masking /
HEPA-using establishments.

Please DM @anarchodelphis if you would like to:
β’ Confirm that your establishment's information is correct
β’ add your establishment to the list
β’ For your establishment to be de-listed
Does what it says on the can. DM @anarchodelphis on Twitter with places to add. Note that some places are graylisted because they don't have enough measures in place for the former, but aren't such flagrant offenders that they ought to be blacklisted. These are establishments with, for instance, low traffic but no mask requirement; or low CO2 but numerous customers unmasked.
Itβs not rocket π science.π
Not peer reviewed yet, but an RCT led by Prof @cathnoakes found that HEPA filtration significantly reduced school absenteeism during a large Covid wave. https://tinyurl.com/55hsupcy
From the CDC: βVentilation interventions can reduce the spread of diseaseβ¦β
We need to continue to advocate for clean air in schools, bldgs, officesβ¦everywhere!:)

What is the new #ASHRAE standard 241, #Control of #Infectious #Aerosols? One nice point: equivalent Air Changes.
A good summary is provided by UNM: https://www.cidrap.umn.edu/misc-emerging-topics/new-standard-cutting-risk-infectious-aerosol-spread-sets-high-bar-building
P.S. an inherent problem of such standards is that they hide health-essential information behind a #paywall even though volunteer experts, often paid by public money, contribute the core of the knowledge.
