First 3D print of the New Year completed! The ABS part didn't lift from the print bed this time!

This is a mirrored version of the mesh shoe shelf support I posted earlier.

I'm looking forward to printing something in another colour now. Got 4 colours to choose from (black, red, green and blue)

About 15 minutes left!

✔️ Level Z axis (to 0.05mm difference from left and right - hoping it's precise enough)
✔️ Add ABS slurry to glass print bed
✔️ Add tabs on corners of part to help prevent delamination from print bed
✔️ Slice the part in #PrusaSlicer
✔️ Load up g-code in Pronterface, heat up bed and hot end
✔️ Start print!

✅ Install spool holder
✅ Install filament spool

No need to say that it looks like you were right, Cura-lulzbot is trying to move the Z axis much too fast. Thanks!

I won't have time to test the extruder tonight, but I'm having another go at heating the bed up to 110 degrees. It's now up to 103 degrees (after 22min 🙄 ), and the PSU fan hasn't started. The motors aren't getting warm as with Cura either. 🤔

Hopefully I can get to actual 3D printing during the Holidays which start tomorrow night for me.

The default speeds are 3000 for XY and 100 for Z. Seems to be mm/minute.

The default bed size is 200x200, but in the Y axis, it's actually 190 usable due to the paper clamps holding the glass sheet to the heatbed. 3 times now I've sent the print head into the paper clamp. 🤦‍♂️

I would rather use Cura because it can slice and control the printer, but if I can't figure it out, I'll just resort to the old Slic3r & Printrun combo.

I hadn't even noticed the profiles directory. Still, I just can't find where to change the speed settings in Cura! I looked everywhere.

So I tried to launch the old Printrun/Pronterface from 2012. It launches but the motor control buttons aren't showing in the GUI, the WxWidgets and Python libraries are too old. I git cloned Printrun source, launched it - same old outdated user interface, but it's fully functional - and Z axis movement is perfectly fine!

Thanks for the suggestion. My problem is I can't find settings for my #AO100. No current software supports it anymore. I have no clue what values are sensible. I checked the earliest sources for Cura-lulzbot and found no profile for it. That'll teach me not to make backups. 🙄

A microSD card shipped with my printer includes Marlin, Slic3r, Printrun. I'll try to run the latter to see if I can find settings in the GUI. I can't figure it out by looking at the sources.

#3Dprinting follow-up

I didn't do much tonight. The black wire attached to the Z end stop switch wasn't broken, it just got loose. I reattached it to the switch contact, and now I can home in the Z axis.

But I have a new issue now: if I manually move the Z axis up down by 1mm steps, everything's fine. However, if I input a higher value, like 5 or 10 or 15, the Z axis jams and makes a strident honking noise (beware!).
