Having done several UEFI Firmware updates today on a number of X870E based AM5 motherboards, it's clear that it works. No disasters. 🙂🤷♂️
What is odd though is that some board manufacturers do retain the firmware settings after an version update and other just don't. Setting up UEFI when everything is reset to defaults is a pain 🙄
Even when you have the option to save the current settings to USB storage, you can't always reload them on a newer version of the firmware.

You may want to hold off updating AM5 motherboard BIOS. Not clear yet if it's brand specific.
