Here's the slide-out phone/tablet form factor I talked about at #AEASF @mia. I predict this variable-size form factor will become standard for high-end devices within a few years, introducing a greater need then ever for component-level responsiveness in web and application design:

#AnEventApart comes to an end after 17 years. Thank you to @Meyerweb, @zeldman, Toby, and every speaker who shared their knowledge with us over the years.

I am eternally graceful to have had the privilege of speaking from the An Event Apart stage, two times virtual, and just two weeks ago in person at what was to become the last #AEASF ever.

An Event Apart - Farewell

I learned so much at #AEASF last week! Just implemented container queries, clamp(), and individual transform properties on my site 🥳
In case you were curious, this is the early ideation stage of a typical conference talk for me. All on paper, lots of random thinking, slowly building storylines and structure. Example is my #aeasf talk from this week. Cc @aneventapart
The #AEASF venue was so festive, there were Christmas trees lurking backstage

That is a very damned line. Systems will optimize to get as close as possible to that line.

A marker for disinformation is… that it got shared more than the rest. Yikes.

Thanks so much to #AnEventApart #AEASF for having me come to speak again. It was great to see so many new and familiar faces. If you enjoyed the ending notes of my presentation about the perils of the "user education" mindset, you might enjoy a deeper dive on this topic: https://www.kryshiggins.com/from-user-education-to-product-education/

CSS :has() means “has a relationship” with an element…so children, siblings, etc. It won’t select an element that contains the conditions outlined in :has() itself #AEASF
Enjoying @Meyerweb tellinb is all about how to use the CSS :has() selector #AEASF
