Ospizio #Bernina in the early 2000s: a consist led by two Rhaetische Bahn #RhB🇨🇭#ABe4/4 railcars has just arrived from St. Moritz. These fine vehicles, originally built in 1908 and re-modelled in the late 1940s, were almost 100 years old when the photo was taken. And this wasn’t a museum train, just an ordinary, scheduled, revenue earning, working.
A visual refreshment with this photo taken on Christmas Eve 2005: Swiss #RhB🇨🇭 #ABe4/4III unit #52 is working a Rhaetische Bahn service over the #Bernina line at 2,250 metres a.s.l. and temperatures way below freezing point.
Opening windows provided a very refreshing travel experience.
