(Australian) ABC's "Weekend Breakfast". I don't watch it, but I get it second hand as the partner watches it most mornings. It is such a vapid, pointless show, but this morning was particularly bad, with lengthly discussions of his family's wardrobe at the inauguration, ffs.
I couldn't help transplanting it back 80-odd years...
"Ooh, seems like Mr Hitler is trying out a new cuff style this time!"
"Yes, and I do believe they may have added tassels to some of the flags, and don't they look festive!"
It all normalises and glosses over the fact that there is an actual fascist in the White House. They did mention "The Handmaid's Tale", so that's something.
