At #ABATECHSHOW there was incessant talk about #AI. Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, even Gemini and Perplexity...but I heard nary a peep about Grok. I think there's a reason for that...

Elon Musk is shaking up xAI ahead of the SpaceX IPO. All 11 of his cofounders are gone, 8 of them since January.

Though it's still a tiny percentage of law firms, I'm noticing the Google Workspace users are being a bit more represented at #ABATECHSHOW this year.

As #ABATECHSHOW wraps up I have to admit that walking around the Expo Hall I saw a few products where I thought "What does your product do that I couldn't just do with Claude?"

I think that's going to be a real challenge for any new tech product.

#ABATECHSHOW broke records for attendance this year. And they did a much better job of using the space this year too, nice to see.
Fun fact for #ABATECHSHOW attendees: McCormick Place is North America's largest convention center — a sprawling, four-building lakefront campus totaling 2.6 million square feet of exhibit space in Chicago's South Loop. You will get your steps in at TECHSHOW. 😄 (Though this year there's a shuttle!)

I'll admit #ABATECHSHOW is one of my favorite events of the year and I'm excited to be there again this year.

TECHSHOW 2026: Where The Legal Tech Family Gathers

Where TECHSHOW shines is in its content and this year is no exception.

Above the Law
Heading to #ABATECHSHOW this week and definitely going to get my steps in. Just going from the hotel to the conference floor and back will probably net me at least a mile a day. 😂
The other thing I asked my AI to do ahead of #ABATECHSHOW is something I like to do ahead of any conference - create a one-pager about the venue. I'm always more comfortable navigating around if I have more details about the facility, it's features and history. I usually look it over on the plane.

#ABATECHSHOW is coming up next week and there are 123 vendors who will be in the Expo Hall. In order to make the best use of my time there I asked my AI partners (Claude, Copilot, and ChatGPT) to create a briefing paper for me that listed each of the vendors, and gave me a concise summary of their offerings so I could better plan who I need to talk to.

I also asked them to prioritize which vendors I should be sure to visit with.

Pretty interesting results.
