AnneTheWriterOne of those many #4000Beagles ended up in a foster #rescue home in my suburban Chicago neighborhood. He was the sweetest thing, but he was freaked out by the sky and clouds-- he had never been out in the open before and had never known life without a kennel above his head. During the first week, the little #Beagle kept wanting the human to bend over him when outside, so as to hide the scary open sky from his view.
He had never known a loving human hand, and he had sores & filth all over him when he was first rescued. He was scared of everything, even other gentle & timid dogs.
I saw him a few times over the next several weeks. He improved greatly, but it took a long time for every small bit of learning and trust.
I hope there is a special spot in hell for people who do things like that to #dogs.
