To be clear, I'm not anti-"AI". Machine learning is great, and has been advancing for over 50 years. It's this corporate greed mandate that's ruining what is otherwise an amazing breakthrough (transformers) in machine / deep learning. I study engineering because of it.

Of course, medical software companies have a vested interest in your privacy, but in a world where medical records are leaked quite often, it's just another avenue of vulnerability, especially when some model providers use the data to "improve the product" lack transparency.
