@[email protected] personally I never tried this platform (used to have a xmpp server, now using my own mattermost instance with close firends), but I feel a bit unconfortable that discord as a platform is being pushed by e.g. rustlang as a community platform: https://www.rust-lang.org/community

Don't see why they can't use mattermost, or even zulip (never tried that one, though) that was proposed as alternative.

@[email protected] Hello, here's a somewhat recent source (dec 2018) indicating it is now more than **2** billion (apparently the 1.65 billion dates from this summer?): https://www.businessinsider.com/discord-funding-2-billion-value-2018-12
The world's most popular video game chat app is now worth more than $2 billion, as it gears up to take on the makers of 'Fortnite'

Discord now has more than 200 million users, and investors are starting to take notice.

Notes on Type Layouts and ABIs in Rust

@[email protected] OK, thank you for the answer. Can't we have both, though? When doing code reviews at work, we always strive towards achieving the best quality as possible, yet we also keep civil. (not an opensource community though, just a small software shop)
@[email protected] If the quality of projects like #rustlang that have such a code of conduct is anything to go by, kernel quality might actually even further improve. I genuinely don't understand how a CoC that basically say "be nice to each others" could create problems? Because of the clause that says that it extends to communications while made "representing the project"?
