@mikemcquaid I hear that and obviously was being snarky. But, I do see ai as being useful if what you need is to see how someone did something in the past that you need to do - programmers solving things. The idea that it thinks or is intelligent in a way that is creative or inventive, is silly to me. The fact that it uses ungodly resources (power/energy and creates heat at a stupid rate) is why I think it is a grift to sell cloud resources for vendors that were stagnating and require growth for the sake of growth. Kind of like bitcoin was using all these resources in an ever increasing way, while actually producing less over time. I see ai as a crappy search engine, the way I see blockchain as a slow an inefficient database. Sure, it has uses, but not what is being sold to solve. Back to the use for programmers and vibe coding... I see this causing security issues in the future because code review is what people suck at, and you don't know what you don't know, so it will be decades cleaning up things that were coded by people that never review anything. Just in time for a new grift, by the people that screwed us with the last one...
