COVID is not over, try to avoid it.
I hate:
* generation loss due to careless lossy (re-)encoding
* Times New Roman
* reading thin gray text over a white background
* pedestrian traffic lights where they're not needed* inefficient, bloated software
* self-censorship of “dirty words”

Man kann es auch als Medienkompetenzübung sehen.
… aber ja, es wäre gut das explizit zu erwähnen.
@roskakori Another issue is that the application doesn't respect my system locale (en-DK with ISO 8601 date). Otherwise it yould have at least displayed 2025-04-3…, which would have been more useful to me, as in this case the year is more important than the month and day.
However, the fact that the column didn't automatically expand in the first place (despite there being more than enough horizontal space) turned out to be to some weird Qt5 glitch that I am no longer able to reproduce.
* 2024: Hey, we need you to enable #2FA because security!! Hackers! Terrorists!
* 2025: Hey, we also need you to set a “secret question/answer” (something like “What is the name of the city where you were born?”) for account recovery.
Oh jeez. 🤦

(Ein Browser-Problem ist möglich, halte ich aber für eher unwahrscheinlich. Eher macht der Zuck das Aussteigen schwer. Das war 2013, als ich meinen Accout dort löschte, auch schon so.)
Also, in what world would that be a reason to switch to a different browser? That would be like voting for a neo-fascist party because the left-centrist parties have once again fucked up. Unfortunately, many people do that. I don't.
There seems to be a popular opinion that critique (labeled as “negativity”) towards the “good guys” is automatically support for the “bad guys”, including accusations of astro-turfing or being a “useful idiot”.
But that sort of black-and-white thinking isn't really anything new. It isn't limited to any specific topic either. Mob mentality makes it even worse.
Interestingly, people spreading dangerous misinformation and straight-up lies (usually in poor language) are getting yelled at less than people who happen to trigger the mob's cognitive dissonance (how dare I call Mozilla an ad company!).
But enough of that. No more shitposting on the Fediverse in 2025!
If one implements telemetry, it should always be OFF by default and never turn ON unless the users sets an dedicated action.
User preferences shouldn't be touched unless there is a really important technical reason for that.
I have no moral problem pointing my finger at Mozilla for this.
I've deleted the opening post because it contained critique of Ecosia (who might sue me) that was beside the point. I don't really care what search engine Mozilla is installing without my consent.
Other browsers being even worse isn't a justification for Mozilla's aggressive behavior.
Also, laughing at someone for not being able to do something the person never claimed to be able to do is idiotic.
