This is none of my business but I can assure the very mediocre faux George Orwell that steinkobbe was not being sincere. That a guy doing a bad job of cosplaying as George Orwell doesn't understand this is funnier and more hard hitting than anything else he has ever posted.
I was reading this old classic comment about vi/vim and this about marks (which I don't use often) made me think of one of my idiosyncratic things I do: my default macro recording goes into `m` (so `qm` to start recording it) because it's the opposite letter corner letter key from `q`. Don't know why I do that but it works for me.

I've heard a lot about Vim, both pros and cons.
It really seems you should be (as a developer) faster with Vim than with any other editor.
