Motto from one of Confucius's students, Zengzi. As recorded in the book "Analects" (a.k.a. "Sayings of Confucius"). My own simple translation.

Did I not put my heart into things that I did?

一直不太懂國際象棋的細緻規則，近兩年看 YouTube 的象棋內容多了，開始懂一些奇怪的規例，也懂得一點點這類奇怪的笑點。

根據國際象棋規例，如果輪到一個玩家走棋時：

1. 他的王 (King) 沒有被將 (check)；
2. 他沒有任何合符規例的棋步可以走。留意，王按規例是不可以故意走進被將的局面。

那就算是僵局 (stalemate) ，依例算兩名玩家和局 (draw)。

如果你不了解國際象棋下法，這裏簡單講：后 (queen) 每回合是可以向橫、直、斜任一方向無限格移動和吃棋；而王 (king) 每回合只能橫、直、斜任一方向行一格。

漫畫中，后走那一格之後，王被逼到不論向橫、直、斜那方向走一格，都會立刻被吃，也因此根據棋例全不能走，反而變成僵局平手。
