@Metaph nice! mine refuses to use generation for fee offset, only kWh consumed. And in a few years, has said all customers must get off net metering and go to reimbursed output only. At very low reimbursement rates less than paid rates, of course. 😥

@Metaph alas, my power company always charges me even with solar - on months my usage is all solar i still get charged a “connection fee”. Still worth getting solar, for the cost and the environment.

@anthropy @tryst @philpem I still regularly use nano mainly because many decades ago I used pine as my first internet email client, and just got too used to the pico interface even when I learned vim and other editors.

@anthropy I didn’t have an option at the time to upgrade the battery on my old Nissan Leaf, so I traded it in for a newer EV with a 66kWh battery. CHAdeMO had already fallen out long ago anyway, so figured it’d also update my fast charge options. The difference was *amazing*, I stopped thinking about trip distances every time I was going out, and just go. Definitely life changing, and makes it the only car needed now. Whether getting a newer car or updating the old one, always go for the bigger battery. 😄

@Dex I've worked in data centres too long now - if I close my eyes and think about Inside the Internet, I'll just see rows and rows of computer cabinets with all the blinky lights

@baralheia There's a name I haven't heard in a long time, and missing hearing. I hope he's doing well.

Way back in the late 90s , we happened to cross the same chat channels and I said I loved his work, and seeing my domain name goes "Gallifrey? From Doctor Who??" A month or so later I found in my inbox a picture of Malathar in a TARDIS with a note going "you could even use this as a logo!" I've occasionally popped it around here and there as an easter egg, including on the weyr.social site (even though I'm the only one using it).
