@sarahgriff Excellent life advice!
i've been using forums since i was a tender little tadpole of eleven and let me tell you this. the secret to any online social space is just to say weird shit until you make friends
@TakeV Infodump as love language <3

@[email protected] I'm new, so I have mostly heard these things said to others. The folks I've directly told about my NB realizations have been pre-informed by community stuff or are trans themselves.

"your journey" is one I've def already heard, and I find it extra funny for reasons I can't quite place.

@[email protected] It is perfectly disgusting. If you think you wouldn't like any of it, you are *correct* and I would never try to argue the point.

It's an antique comedian in-joke, and some comedians really enjoy pushing the bounds of what ought to be said out loud. I love "backstage", so even though gross-out humor is not my usual thing, I was able to enjoy it. But it is *very much* not for everyone.

@andybaio Thanks so much for this, I'm currently having a discussion that this post belongs in. [Hope you're well! Finding my way around here and liking it so far.]

@[email protected] O M F G, I just made some folks watch Bob Saget's stellar|disgusting entry in the movie. I found it thrillingly horrific, just a tour-de-force of filthy-minded nonsense, but also a couple of my friends found out something new about me and seemed newly surprised. But I have always contained multitudes! :)

Tl;dr: I agree completely!

@mala @lizzard Bill started reading War and Peace awhile back -- it wasn't so much literary momentum as the opposite! "Everything is hard to read now so I might as well read something famously long/hard to read" is my summary of his assessment. He's enjoying it, but I think I'll let y'all have it.

I'm digging back into Borges and Dante and looking at translations and related stuff.
