Oh no!

@mos_8502 @root42

Yes, that's also what I heard.

As a kid, I loved a lot of designs that looked cool and futuristic, but (unbeknownst to me) were not really practical. I never saw the 116 back then, but I *loved* the look of the plus/4 and its impractical arrow "keys". (Somehow even worse than the C64's two arrow keys!) I saw one in a store and saved all of my money to buy one, but (perhaps lucky for me) it had been discontinued by then, so I eventually got a Commodore 128 instead.

I also thought the Atari 400 looked way cooler than the Atari 800. Perhaps I would have felt differently if I actually has regular access to any of these machines. I bet typing on an Atari 400 would be torture

While I still appreciate the look of these machines, my "daily-driver" keyboard is a hideous but ergonomic Kinesis Advantage.

@root42 I *love* the styling of the 116 (and plus/4), but I also think it's pretty funny that Commodore pretty much combined the case of a plus/4, the guts of a Commodore 16 (not too different from the plus/4, TBF), and the keyboard of a calculator to make the 116.
Funny Google Translate bug: if you translate the French word "bourse" into English, the translation is misspelled!

Finally received my ZX Spectrum Next.

The "tape cutting error" on the shipping box is a cute touch.

(My son and I are waiting in a restaurant.)
My son: let's play wordle
Me: ok, I usually start with "adieu"
Him: I usually start with "piano"
Me: ok, go ahead

@b0rk Is there going to be another thread to make the case *for* rebase? 😆

I used to think rebasing was scary because I didn't understand it, but now I always rebase into my feature branches, and only merge when going back up into main.

The Wikipedia page for "Mother Goose and Grimm" has an example of the strip that in turn references Wikipedia!

Looking up "magsafe 2023 pinout" shows that there simply aren't pins for data.

I also tested with a dock to confirm, and only power was transmitted over magsafe.

Kind of unfortunate, IMHO. Most of the time my MBP is charging, it's from a dock on my desk (that also connects to ethernet and a monitor). So as a result, I pretty much never use the magsafe port, and the magsafe cable is in my tub of USB cables.
