@cloudguy More likely to be the water companies incompetence. Sometimes the issues that arise from the water boards are unbelievable. The whole business in the UK seriously in need of modernisation.
@CordiallyChloe 33.6k, you were luck, I started on on 14K (yes I know some started out using phone handsets and acoustic couplers), and started my Internet journey with Compuserve and Mosaic web browser. I may have started my onlife earlier but unfortunately I could never afford the kit.
But it is not only the web site companies but the hosting companies that became giants of their field and then disappeared overnight. Search Engines like Alta Vista and Forte Agent for reading those Newsgroups
@jamespetts My god how things have advance since I had a trainset. Seem like you need a programming and electronic degree to play with model trains nowadays
