Just incase twitter doesn’t work out
@paul @tapbots Not sure if other users have already reported this, but I’m not sure if this is just an issue with iOS 17 or the app itself, but I haven’t been able to open up calcbot. Here’s a video of the issue. Thank u
@[email protected] @vmachiel @paul Reddit wanting to charge for API access is not the concern, as many of the devs making third party apps agreed (such as Apollo and Sync) that there should be a charge for usage of the API, the issue is the pricing, as it effectively kills competition, and the way they treated developers is terrible. I agree that Reddit has every right to charge for API access, but they should adjust it so it doesn’t cost devs millions..
@paul That’s what I’ve been saying since the beginning, the best compromise is if you want to use a third party app is to pay for premium, and use the official app if you want to use it free. Reddit still makes money, and 3rd party apps can still be around (though not as big ).The best overall solution would be making the API cheaper but requiring premium would still be a better solution then what there currently doing. Tho I doubt Reddit will do anything even with the blackout :/
