Last weekend I baked this pie for a get together with friends. It is the sour cherry pie from Dessert Person by Claire Saffitz. This is the second time I have made this one and it did not disappoint.

It took me a couple years to have the guts to read this after getting through Parable of the Sower. I don't think I could have read this in a time that made it more frightening or fitting. Amazing book which leaves me hopeful and frightened for all of us. Octavia Butler was an incredible storyteller.
